I couldn't get to sleep last night because I was too excited to go! We all met about 8:15 at the I-69 rest area near Muncie. It was cold and blowing and two of us are fighting colds. It's good to get out of Indiana! I took this picture when we stopped for a parking lot picnic and fuel. I keep at log book of our costs and we figured out that diesel fuel is about 90 cents/gallon cheaper than in October, and about three dollars less than when we went to Maine last June. Yippee!
Rick and I saw familiar landmarks from our multiple trips between IN and Oklahoma City in October. Today was pretty uneventful, which is a good thing. We don't want any repeats of that
trip when our truck's engine died or our Maine trip when Ted and Rick practiced their tire-changing skills a couple of times.
It finally got warmer and sunny this afternoon as we drove South, about 60 degrees. The redbud, flowering crab trees and tulips were blooming in St. Louis so that gives me hope that Spring is on its way north to Indiana! The big discussion is what the weather will be the entire trip. Who knows? Tonight we are in Marshfield MO at a small but adequate RV park. We got set up, threw together a quick dinner and we've all crashed.
